Saumur I. Is a floral design embroidered in satin stitch on a costume skirt made and worn by Margrét Egilsdóttir (1857-1913), wife of the sheriff at Vatneyri in Vesturbyggð, West Barðastrandarsýsla in the West Fjords.

Beautiful design on a black cotton fabric, the design is machine-sewn into the fabric using quality string. Size 40x75 cm.

Saumur ( means stitching) is textile line for the Museum shop. The products are stitched with band of wool from an old stitching patterns, that are preserved at the Nationa Museum.

From word processors and video terminals, to the very first desktop personal computers, these compact machines heralded a beige age, a period of microcomputing from the the 1970s and early 80s when design standards had conformed to realise a palette of neutral coloured machines throughout offices and later the home.

Featuring iconic machines such as the Commodore Pet, the Apple Macintosh and the IBM Personal Computer, the series documents an era of unique industrial design where technological progress had allowed for once room-sized machines to now neatly fit on your desk.

These machines were photographed and meticulously digitally stylised by James Ball (Docubyte) to create a unique aesthetic. To ensure these images are presented to highest quality, we have lithographically printed them on 250gsm coated paper to standard B2 sized format (50cm x 70cm) that will look stunning on any office wall.
