Roman Military Chainmail Bracelet - Anjo Designs

£75 (was £125)

Product description from their website:

Inspired by historical chainmail and the Royal Armouries’ Gladiators: Heroes of the Colosseum exhibition, this exquisite bracelet is painstakingly handcrafted using traditional mail weaving methods. This bracelet is crafted from gold coloured rings with alternating flashes of silver and cut-out detail.

Soldiers in Ancient Rome were eligible for a military decoration known as an armilla, an armband often made of gold, silver or bronze.

Chain maille (sometimes written as chain-mail) is an ancient form of armour that was in common use as early as the 3rd century BCE. It remained in use up until the 16th century CE in Europe, and even later in Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
