Product description from their website:
This storm glass is an invention of the captain of Darwin's HMS Beagle, Admiral Robert Fitzroy. A mysterious phenomenon, the special combination of liquids inside the glass can predict changes in weather.
The appearance of the liquid changes with streaks, cloudiness, flakes and crystals. Fitzroy used a storm glass whilst sailing during the 18th century, including on Charles Darwin's famous voyage.
