Located north of Oaxaca city, the Sierra Mazateca mountain range is a remote and challenging coffee growing region, marked by its steep and dramatic topography. It became an unlikely centre of alternative tourism in the 1960’s but today the area is becoming known for its fruit forward coffees sourced from isolated small farms.
Keep your coffee sealed in the bag and store in a cool dry place away from sunlight. Use within 3 months.
Tate Collective's Open Call invited 16-25 year olds to create artworks for our coffee labels. Each entry was inspired by Coffee by Tate's values of quality, community and gender equality. This label titled Senses was designed by Emma Olivia Buzzard.
About our producers
Our import partners Raw Material work to help smallholders increase their yield in order to make coffee farming a viable income for those that live in this mountainous region. They are able to facilitate higher and more stable prices for their coffee whilst also introducing them to new markets.
